The Dean and the Vice-Dean
- Art. 50. The Dean represents the Faculty and is responsible for its management and leadership.
- Art. 51. The Dean presides over the Faculty Council meetings and applies the decisions of the Rector, the Administrative Council and of the Senate.
- Art. 52. The Dean is selected through a public competition organised by the Rector. At the competition can participate candidates within or outside the university as well as from any other faculty with a similar profile in the country or from abroad, who, based on the hearing in the plenum of the Faculty Council and by the vote of its simple majority had received its approval to participate at the competition in accordance with the relevant regulations. The Faculty Council has the obligation to approve at least 2 candidates. The Dean will be nominated by the Rector.
- Art. 53. The Dean’s competences:
- a) coordinates the activity of the Faculty Council and of the special committees;
- b) organises the activities concerning quality management;
- c) proposes the matriculation and expulsion of students;
- d) signs the transcript of grades, the diplomas and certificates;
- e) can act as a substitute for the Rector, with her/his approval, in internal and international representation of the PTI, ensures the current leadership of PTI services;
- f) is responsible in front of the Faculty Council, the Senate and of the Rector.
- Art. 54. The Dean can be revoked from her/his function. The procedure is triggered by the request of at least one third of the Faculty Council members, who can demand the organisation of an extraordinary meeting of the Council with this particular agenda.
- Art. 55. The decision of revoking the Dean from her/his function is taken by a 2/3 majority of the Faculty Council members.
- Art. 56. According to art. 207, par. 5, let. c) of Law 1/2011, the Dean nominates her/his Vice-Dean after his nomination by the Rector.
- Art. 57. The mandate of the Vice-Dean is of 4 years. The competences of the Vice-Dean are the following
- a) coordinates the activities for which she/he has been nominated by the Dean;
- b) has the right to sign various documents with the Dean’s approval and the assumption of personal and public responsibilities;
- c) solves all the problems of the faculty which had been assumed by the Dean and belong to her/his competence.
