A tanítványság intézménye rendkívüli jelentőséggel bír az Újszövetség szempontjából. De vajon van-e valamilyen nyoma ennek az intézménynek a hellenista világon túl? Beszélhetünk-e tanítványságról az Ószövetségben? Játszott-e valamiféle szerepet az Ószövetség abban, hogy a tanítványság ilyen formát öltött a zsidóságon belül?

Compared with the classical stories about the creation of humanity in Gen 1-2, Ps 139:13-16 is a remarkable text exposing some interesting details about variant Israelite concepts regarding human origins. One of those is the idea that divine creation transcends the repetitive processes of birth. It is argued that the Hebrew term, קנה has strong mythological connotations here as well as in other places in the Old Testament. סכך should most likely be correlated with נסך, which is clarified in closely related contexts such as Prov 8:23 and Ps 2:6.

The spiritual atmosphere can be pure and impure, life nourishing or stifling. The physical atmosphere can also be pure or polluted, life nourishing or stifling. In this context pure air means the abundance of man’s physical living conditions, the pureness and the absence of harm in the whole ecological system, ensuring man’s living space. It also means the balance, which has to exist between the food- and energy resources of our planet for the daily needs of its 7 billion inhabitants.

Az ószövetségi Izrael számára Egyiptom volt az az afrikai ország, amellyel JHVH választott népének történelme hosszú időn át a legszorosabb értelemben összeszövődött. De egyiptomi közvetítéssel Izrael az afrikai térség több más népcsoportjával is igen közeli kapcsolatba került. A bibliai szerzők Egyiptom mellett leggyakrabban annak déli szomszédját, Kús földjét emlegetik. Kús földje és népe a maga etnikai és földrajzi sajátosságaival belső Afrika egzotikus világát jelképezte a Kánaán térségében élő emberek számára.
